The law is there to protect the citizens, and it’s the citizens’ duty to uphold the law. But sometimes events fall into some sort of grey areas where people feel like the law is repressing them. One good and very common example of this is speed limits. People often feel like, because they have a car with excellent safety features of because they judge themselves to be extremely good and skillful drivers, they don’t have to obey the speed limit. They feel that it is there for others, and having to obey it is, in a way, being repressed. But the truth is, the speed limit is there to protect you from crashing your car at a high speed and others from being crashed into at a high speed. Sure, your car is great, but the other drivers’ car may not be so good. And you might be a great driver, but maybe the other person isn’t, and they may cause the accident. Bottom line is, before breaking any law, consider that they are there for a reason and try to look at both sides of it.
